The Crayon List

By William Farrell

Joey and his teen daughter, Reesa don’t talk to each other. He is given a post-Civil War book of sketches, but it is she who secretly examines the book and discovers a code embedded in the drawings. REVIEW

Just finished reading this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The numerous twists and turns kept my interest throughout as I pondered what would happen next. It was fun reading the familiar Chicago street names/locations and the clever inclusion of Chicago’s politics and bad guys. The ending was a surprise as I had anticipated the traditional happy one.
